Hack@Brown is all about learning. Spend a weekend with us and 350 other students to take a step out of your comfort zone. Make Hack@Brown your event by experimenting with a new platform, API, or that idea that’s always been on the back of your mind.

Best Use of Public Cloud

Does your project utilize the cloud? Bracket is excited and awarding the best project using any kind of cloud hosting service (Amazon Web Server, Azure, Linode, DigitalOcean etc.) The sky is literally the limit with cloud!

Most Elegant Backend

Is your backend well-designed? Scalable? AppDynamics is sponsoring the best project that knows whatever happens behind the scenes is just as important as what we see.

Best Microsoft Project

The best project using Azure web services, Microsoft platforms (Office, etc), Kinect, or the Bing APIs gets a special prize from Microsoft.

Best Out-of-the-Box Financial Application

CapitalOne will be giving out a prize for best financial application with an out-of-the-box idea! Consider using CapitalOne's Nessie API (although it's not necessary to use the API to be eligible for this prize).

Best Mobile App

Andreessen Horowitz is awarding a prize for the best mobile app, across any platform.

    Judges will walk around during the expo and pick their favorite projects. Judges come from a variety of backgrounds — engineering, design, business, social impact, and more. Each team will be judged by at least two judges.
